Biblical Fantasy

(This is a picture that I took of the Supernatural DVD cover)
Supernatural is my favorite show on television right now. It is about two brothers, Sam and Dean Winchester, that hunt and kill ghosts, demons, and many other monsters throughout the country. In the last two seasons the story line has started to revolve around the story told in the Bible in the book "Reveltaion". The seals have all been broken, the horsemen of the apocalypse are arriving, and Lucifer is walking the earth in search of the anti-christ. It is now up to Sam and Dean, with the help of a rebellious angel and an outcast demon, to stop the war between heaven and hell and save the world.
I chose this image because this show is a perfect example of what I am researching for this project. I am looking at how fictional entertainment in modern day fairytales is influenced by stories from the Bible. Biblical references are becoming prevalent in several books, movies, and television shows today. When people read The Chronicles of Narnia or Lord of the Rings, watch movies like The Book of Eli, or television shows like Supernatural they are getting Bible stories in a new way.
